Project Description
A pump-filtration system for water cooling of turbine bearings at the hydropower plant. Requirements: 60 l/min, at 1.2 bar
The Process
1. Design Proposal
- Defining the problem, criteria, and requirements
- Simple calculations, pressure loss estimation
- Components specification
2. 3D Modeling and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Analysis.
- Utilized Configuration Manager in SolidWorks to build multiple versions and simplified models for analysis
- Used SolidWorks Flow Simulation to perform CFD analysis
- Iterating until optimal results
3. Technical Documentation
- Technical drawings
- Assembly instructions
- Applying GD&T
