A pump-filtration system for water cooling of turbine bearings at the hydropower plant. Requirements: 60 l/min, at 1.2 bar

1. Design Proposal

  • Defining the problem, criteria, and requirements
  • Simple calculations, pressure loss estimation
  • Components specification

2. 3D Modeling and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Analysis.

  • Utilized Configuration Manager in SolidWorks to build multiple versions and simplified models for analysis
  • Used SolidWorks Flow Simulation to perform CFD analysis
  • Iterating until optimal results
